WHO WE ARE

Founding

Atlantic Projects Company (APC) was founded in Ireland in 1974 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of GE (USA) to provide GE with a highly-qualified and experienced workforce for its worldwide EPC and maintenance business. In 1987, senior management purchased APC from GE and it remained a management-owned enterprise until 2015 when APC was acquired 100% by Argan, Inc. based in Rockville, MD.

Supporting

Servicing the electricity, oil, gas, process and renewable sectors for half a century, APC has become one of the most experienced power industry contractors in the world. Installing and maintaining advanced-technology gas turbines, steam turbines, hydro turbines, boilers, HRSGs, compressors and other rotating equipment as well as power grid stabilisation, our complex engineering solutions have helped fuel the power generation industry on a global scale.

Evolving

Technical innovation has shaped our journey in a growing industry that is evolving and transitioning at great speed. Our ability to be forward-thinking and progressive over the last five decades has taken APC from strength to strength. The power generation industry is becoming increasingly focused on sustainability, and in the global response we have become an industry frontrunner.

Reflecting

With bases in Ireland and UK, APC’s development of an international team of the most skilled employees has been the foundation of our success.

2024 marks fifty years since the founding of Atlantic Projects Company and we are proud to celebrate this milestone.

APC APPROACH

Our Approach and Commitment to Evolve

We recognise that the world can no longer sustain previous levels of fossil fuel-based electricity generation, and as such, a switch to more renewable sources of energy is inevitable. Some forms of fossil fuel technologies will continue to have a role as either transitional or backup sources of electricity generation, but there now needs to be a more concerted effort to develop our renewable services.

APC plays a key role in what has been termed the “Transition Period” between fossil fuel-based technologies to more renewable sources of fuel to generate electricity. Our increased focus on renewable technologies allows us to harness our 50 years of knowledge and experience so we can provide the most efficient and effective sustainable solutions to our clients. Our dedicated multi-faceted team works flexibly and creatively to ensure each collaboration is smooth and successful. Communication is a key element of growth, and we endeavour to continuously improve in how we relate. Our success is in our synergy, so each team member makes all the difference.
